Opi Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Brennan Tharaldson, operating the Opi oilfield procurement information service (“Opi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you:

  • Visit https://www.procurewithopi.com
  • Send or receive SMS or MMS messages through Opi
  • Request oilfield procurement information
  • Communicate with Opi
  • Otherwise use the Opi service

By using Opi, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect information you provide directly to Opi, including:

  • Your name
  • Mobile telephone number
  • Email address
  • Company name
  • Job title or business role
  • Geographic or service-area information
  • Procurement requests
  • Product names, sizes, specifications, quantities, and required dates
  • Vendor preferences
  • Message content
  • Images, documents, screenshots, or attachments you send
  • Questions, feedback, support requests, and other communications

You are responsible for ensuring that you are authorized to provide information submitted through Opi.

Messaging Information

When you communicate with Opi by SMS or MMS, we may collect:

  • Your telephone number
  • The Opi number you contacted
  • Message content
  • Date and time of messages
  • Message direction
  • Message status and delivery information
  • Opt-in, opt-out, and help requests
  • Media or attachments
  • Carrier or messaging-related technical information

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Opi website or use the service, Opi and its service providers may automatically receive limited technical information, including:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Pages requested
  • Referring website
  • Date and time of access
  • Error logs
  • Security and diagnostic information

The current Opi website does not intentionally use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral advertising trackers. Hosting and security providers may nevertheless process standard technical logs necessary to deliver and protect the website.

Vendor Information

Opi may collect business information concerning vendors and vendor representatives, including:

  • Company name
  • Business address and service area
  • Product offerings
  • Reported pricing
  • Estimated inventory
  • Estimated lead times
  • Website
  • Business telephone number
  • Business email address
  • Representative name and title
  • Quote or pricing dates
  • Other business-related information

This information may be supplied by vendors, users, publicly available sources, or Opi’s business contacts.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Receive and respond to procurement requests
  • Identify relevant products, materials, equipment, and vendors
  • Provide reported pricing, availability, and lead-time information
  • Connect users with vendors
  • Ask clarifying questions
  • Send conversational SMS responses requested by users
  • Maintain message and consent records
  • Process STOP, START, HELP, and similar requests
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Opi
  • Develop and improve product matching and information retrieval
  • Monitor usage, engagement, performance, and reliability
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and security threats
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, carrier, and contractual requirements
  • Protect Opi, its users, vendors, service providers, and others

Opi may use automated systems and artificial intelligence to interpret requests, search available data, organize information, and prepare responses.

3. SMS Messaging and Consent

Users may opt in to receive conversational SMS messages by texting PROCURE or START to (432) 535-3377.

Messages may include:

  • Responses to user procurement requests
  • Reported material or equipment pricing
  • Product availability
  • Estimated lead times
  • Vendor contact information
  • Requests for clarification
  • Service and support messages

Message frequency varies based on your requests and interactions.

Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase.

Reply STOP to opt out. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for assistance.

Opi may retain records of SMS consent and opt-out requests to comply with applicable messaging and carrier requirements.

4. Mobile Information and SMS Consent

Opi does not sell, rent, or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

This restriction does not prevent Opi from using service providers that process messaging information solely to provide operational services to Opi, such as telecommunications, messaging delivery, hosting, data storage, security, customer support, or technical processing.

Those service providers are permitted to process information only as needed to perform services for Opi or comply with applicable law.

5. How We Disclose Information

Opi may disclose information in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We may provide information to companies that assist us with:

  • SMS and MMS delivery
  • Hosting and cloud infrastructure
  • Database services
  • Artificial-intelligence processing
  • Error monitoring
  • Security
  • Technical support
  • Website delivery
  • Business operations

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to Opi, subject to applicable contractual and legal restrictions.

Vendors and Procurement Contacts

When necessary to respond to your request or facilitate an introduction you requested, Opi may share relevant procurement information with a vendor, such as:

  • The requested product or material
  • Specifications
  • Quantity
  • Location
  • Required date
  • Business contact information
  • Other information necessary to obtain or confirm a response

Opi will not provide your SMS opt-in consent to vendors for the vendors’ independent marketing or promotional purposes.

A vendor that receives information directly from you or through a user-requested introduction may handle that information under its own privacy practices. Opi does not control independent vendors’ privacy practices.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process
  • Respond to lawful government requests
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful conduct
  • Protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Opi, users, vendors, service providers, or others
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

Business Transactions

If Opi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction.

Any successor’s use of mobile information and SMS consent remains subject to the restrictions stated in this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you instruct us to do so or otherwise provide consent.

6. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

Opi is not designed to collect:

  • Payment-card numbers
  • Banking credentials
  • Passwords
  • Social Security numbers
  • Government identification numbers
  • Personal health information
  • Biometric identifiers
  • Precise personal-location histories
  • Export-controlled technical data
  • Trade secrets unrelated to the procurement request

Do not send highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information. Opi will never ask, request, or inquire the user to send highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information. Opi is intended only to provide relevant oilfield procurement information; we collect neither payment nor processing fees for utilizing the services we provide to the users.

7. Artificial Intelligence Processing

Opi may use artificial-intelligence systems to:

  • Interpret natural-language requests
  • Extract product specifications
  • Match requests with database records
  • Identify missing information
  • Organize vendor and pricing information
  • Generate conversational responses
  • Improve the service

Information submitted through Opi may be transmitted to third-party artificial-intelligence service providers for processing on Opi’s behalf.

AI-generated responses may be incomplete or inaccurate. Users must independently confirm pricing, availability, product suitability, specifications, and commercial terms directly with the applicable vendor.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the service
  • Maintain procurement and messaging records
  • Document consent and opt-out requests
  • Improve system accuracy and performance
  • Prevent fraud or misuse
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce agreements
  • Satisfy legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, carrier, or contractual requirements

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete it, anonymize it, or retain it in a form that no longer identifies an individual.

Backup copies may remain temporarily after deletion as part of routine system operations.

9. Data Security

Opi uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

These safeguards may include:

  • Access controls
  • Credential and secret management
  • Encrypted network connections
  • Restricted database access
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Service-provider security controls
  • Software maintenance
  • Incident-response procedures

No system, network, database, or transmission method is completely secure. Opi cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for using secure devices, protecting access to your telephone and email accounts, and promptly notifying Opi if you believe your communications or account information have been compromised.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

  • Stop SMS messages by replying STOP
  • Resume SMS messages by replying START
  • Request assistance by replying HELP
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Ask for access to certain personal information
  • Ask us to delete certain personal information
  • Ask questions about our privacy practices

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

We may deny or limit a request when permitted or required by law, including when information must be retained for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or documentation of messaging consent and opt-out activity.

Residents of certain states may have additional privacy rights under applicable law. Opi will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.

11. Children’s Privacy

Opi is a business-oriented oilfield procurement service and is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information was collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Users must be at least 18 years old to use Opi.

12. Third-Party Websites and Vendors

Opi may provide links, telephone numbers, email addresses, or contact information for vendors and third-party websites.

Opi does not control the privacy, security, products, services, or business practices of independent third parties.

This Privacy Policy does not govern information you provide directly to a vendor or another third party. Review the applicable third party’s privacy policy before providing information.

13. International Use

Opi is operated in the United States and is primarily intended for users and procurement activity in the United States.

Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where Opi’s service providers operate.

By using Opi, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with privacy laws that differ from those in your location, subject to applicable legal requirements.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Opi may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in:

  • The service
  • Technology
  • Data practices
  • Service providers
  • Legal requirements
  • Messaging or carrier requirements

The updated Privacy Policy will be posted at:

The effective date at the top of the policy will be updated when material changes are made.

When legally required, Opi may provide additional notice of material changes.
